Disciplines

Curriculum framework

Thirty-six (36) discipline credits will be needed to complement the Master’s course, respecting compulsory and optional subjects.

Fifty-five (55) discipline credits will be needed to complement the PhD’s course, respecting compulsory and optional subjects.

Disciplines will be offered semiannually. They are classified as compulsory and optional. The compulsory subjects were created aiming to offer students a comprehensive formation in research, fulfilling the requirements of a methodological nature and those of the Occupational Therapy field. On the other hand, the optional subjects intend to support the specific objectives of each of the two research lines of the program.

• Completion of discipline credits for the Master’s course shall be accomplished within one year, starting from the date of admission at PPGTO;

• Completion of discipline credits for the PhD’s course shall be accomplished within two years, starting from the date of admission at PPGTO;

• Disciplines studied as a regular student in other course of the same level, or as a special student in other graduate course, can be recognized by the Graduate Studies Council (GSC) for up to 40% (forty percent) of the total discipline credits required for the Master’s and PhD's course completion, provided that they had been studied for two years before admission at PPGTO at the latest to the Master and three years to PhD.
